Lead : Instead of using heaps of paper Year one students at Pt England School are using tablets for their learning.

Para One - Why Tablets ?

Juniors at Pt England have tablets because it helps expand the learning more. Mrs Garden said  She thinks that “it makes their learning faster on their tablets and paper and pencil is only one way to write.”

Mrs George, another Teacher, says “children think it’s better than Ipads and Its the right size for them instead of buying heaps of stationery”. Also Kahurangi and Oalii, the kids I interviewed  said “I love it !”

Para Two - How many classes use the idea of tablets.

Three of the Junior classes are trialing using their own tablets as their learning tool. Their Teachers say that it is really helping with their reading, writing as well as their speaking.

Para Three - Do they pay for it ?

The reason why they have tablets is because the are trialing and who knows they may have all the junior kids using a tablet of their own ! Also what's cool about it is that they don’t pay for it because it is a trial.

Conclusion

Ariana, one of a students in Pt England School, thinks it is an awesome idea for year one kids to be using tablets because it’s a fun way to express their learning online.

How did the Commonwealth games begin?

It all started when Britain ruled all the countries in the commonwealth games.

They were ruled

by britain for a very long time until 1931 when they became independent. Then they decided to join a club called The commonwealth of Nations

Why are some countries in the world part of the Commonwealth?

Because they were all looked after by the Queen and britain.

What is special about the Commonwealth games?

Anybody can join.

How many years ago was the first games, how often are they?

It all began 84 years ago and they only come every 4th year.

Why are they called the ‘Friendly games?

Because sport is a good way to show friendship to each other and friendship

is important to the commonwealth games.

Happy Birthday May !

Today is a friend of mine's birthday and she turned 11 ! She is so excited and we are celebrating it by going to Rainbow's End ! I just want to say Happy Birthday may God bless you !

My weekly sports player.

Now on my blog I am making posts about weekly sport's players every week. Today my sport player is Lisa carrington.

Lisa carrington is well known as the New zealand girl who won the gold medal for kayaking in the olympics. Also she is very inspirational and has lots of strength to kayak. She is very strong and sporty.

Immersion Assembly.

Today is the start of Term 2 and everyone is back at school. Every term we get a new topic to learn about and this term our topic is I like to move it move it. We also have performances from each team about what they are going to learn. The one i'm going to talk about is Team 1.

Team 1 are learning about animal equipment that compare to the equipment they have at school or at home . They had a short snipclip about their learning. The Team 1 teachers even went to the zoo to film. They showed all kinds of different animals like Giraffes, Lions, Zebras and their habitats. There was even a short film of a giraffe coming out of a box because it was transported.  Did you know tomorrow they are going to Auckland zoo  to learn more. That’s so exciting for the second day of school. !

My short book review.

This is the book that I am reading which is called Mr Stink. I would describe this book as a hilarious book. I have only read 1 page and a half but I am keen to read more. I would rate this book a 10/10. I can not wait to read more of this awesome book !

Geometry - My Glen Innes Map

Directions to friends house from Pt England school.
1. Go about 15 meters straight through Pt England Rd
2. Then after 15 meters you will see a road to your right .
3. Go through that road until you see another road which will be Taniwha St.

4. Go through that road and about 12 meters later you should see the number 25 on the mail box and you are at my friends house.

Directions to Pt England Reserve:
1. Drive to your left through Pt England road until you see a carpark.
2. If your parking your car on your right you should see a park to your left
3. If you do you are at Pt England Reserve.

My Statistical investigation

I was investigating if the temperature is higher than the wind speed on the 26th of february. After my investigation I found out that the highest temperature is around 36 or 37 and the highest wind speed is about 16 or 17. So the answer to my question is Temperature.

I conclude that every 3 hours the temperature rises higher than the wind speed but at 10 :00 PM it was the oppisite.   

The best chart I would say is the one in the middle. It is more easier to read and also more understandable.  It gives you more information.

I enjoyed finding out if the temperature is higher than the wind speed and also finding what the weather is.
